Psalms 1

“Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers. Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.”

I remember growing up with the most overprotective parents ever! @_@ They would watch over every little thing, I MEAN EVERYTHING! Even who I became friends with…and they would control my interactions too! I used to think these people are crazy o_O. However, they were onto something that many of us miss though it’s explicitly written in the Bible: Do not mix or take pleasure in the company of sinners. That saying, Birds of a feather flock together? IT’S TRUE! Also, as the other saying goes, Tell me who your friends are, I’ll tell you who you are. All of these sayings exist because they’ve been observed to be true. It’s a slow fade my peeps. You don’t notice at first, but it starts with a finger, moves to a hand, then your arm, pretty soon, your whole body is involved in activities you’d swear you’d never be a part of :(. And yes, I have first-hand experience with that unfortunately -_-
So, if there’s one thing I learned about this life it’s that God knows what He’s talking about! If He tells you to stay away from something, it’s because He knows what can happen. Don’t overestimate yourself. The devil is the one boosting your head and tricking you into believing you can handle it. It’s when we are most confident and proud that the devil gets us. Pride comes before destruction. There’s no debating that bad company corrupts good manners. So be smart, be sharp, and be prudent because…
“It’s a slow fade when you give yourself away. It’s a slow fade when black and white turns to gray. Thoughts invade, choices are made, a PRICE will be paid when you give yourself away. People never crumble in a day…It’s a slow fade”
