Philippians 4:4-7

“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Rejoicing and peace…sounds like heaven to me! lol. It’s so easy to get caught up in the ups and downs of this life and worry about what curveballs life is going to throw our way. However, the Bible advises us to do differently. We should have a rejoicing mindset accompanied by gentleness and seek the Lord in prayer with our requests. How many of us can honestly say we do this?? We’re probably more likely to complain, be worried and then after ALL of that (if we remember), go to God in prayer.
Today, I’m telling you to make a positive attitude and praying your INITIAL reaction. I know it’s tough but the next time something bad or negative happens, how about challenging yourself to rejoice, don’t worry, bring it to God, know He’s got it and thus, get the peace that passes understanding??? In fact, that’s a challenge for the day. As you go throughout your day today, pick at least one instance that you would normally be upset about and consciously choose to have the above reaction in place of your usual reaction. Feel free to come back and comment on the blog and share your experience if possible! You never know, you might help someone else :). I’m going to do this as well and hopefully report back to you guys. Pray for me! :D
