Revelation 2:2-5

“I know your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate wicked people, that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them false. You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary. Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first. Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place.”

Do you remember the day you got saved or came to Christ? It was a very joyous day, you probably were ready to jump on it, learn all you could, become a fervent believer and participant in God’s ministry because you just loved God so much and were so enthusiastic about joining the fold, couldn’t wait to get started!
But how long did it take for that to die down? Do you still feel the way you first did? Are you still super eager or excited about God, His Word, His ministry, His people? All of you may not have yet experienced a first love, but I’m pretty sure everyone has at least experienced a 1st crush. Remember how excited you would be to see that person? Talk to that person? Even just hang with that person??? Doing nothing at all? Well, that’s the feeling that God wants us to have towards Him. Don’t let that feeling die. Don’t let Christianity just become a religion. Keep the spark/flame alive in your relationship w/God…before you end up getting a divorce lol :-)
