Psalms 37:7-9

“Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret—it leads only to evil. For those who are evil will be destroyed, but those who hope in the LORD will inherit the land.”

Wait for it…wait for it…wait for it….it’s annoying to wait for something isn’t it? One of the toughest things to learn and do in this life, you ask? Acquire and have patience! It’s so hard to just relax and wait especially in a society that accommodates our want to have everything now. It’s no wonder we can’t wait with all the fast food, fast phones, instant messaging, ongoing connectedness, and all of the other things that provide instant gratification. But that’s just the easy excuse of why we can’t wait…
I know we all sometimes have that feeling…that feeling of…grrrrr, I do everything right, but why does the bad guy get to have the life that I want?? It’s in moments like these we tend to doubt God, start to worry, lose our faith, slip up a bit…but God knows how we feel. That’s why He has allowed this psalmist to reassure us that the evil will fail and we “will inherit the land.” So, trust God today and see where He leads you. I can assure you He won’t let you down. :-)
