Matthew 6:24

No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

Everyone knows the cardinal rule of against worshipping idols or serving other gods. Specifically here, we have money listed. It’s easy to let money take the head in our lives because we need it to buy the things we want. But what about the other gods in your life??? You know which ones I’m talking about. The car god, the beauty god, the cellphone god, the internet god, the social networking god, the boyfriend/girlfriend god, the gym god, the school god, the work job etc. All of these things tend to be possessions or activities we put ahead of God, oftentimes w/o even realizing it. Try to pay attention to what takes up your time during the day, what’s the first thing you do when waking up? Do you thank God for still being here? How about before going to sleep?? Ever think to pray or meditate on the word anytime during the day…or are you too busy for God that He can’t fit into your schedule?? If so, may want to rework some of those priorities and put God first! After all, you either serve one god or the other, but not both :-)
