February 28, 2012

This post is a little different. It talks about a recent personal struggle of mine, and I’d love people to post what they suggest, thoughts, advice, spiritual references that can support these, etc.
One thing that I’ve always had a hard time letting go, though now more than other times is letting go of disappointments. The problem is, people disappoint all the time in this life, so I think it’s essential to learn how to forgive and forget this type of thing. So any suggestions on how to do it? I’m all ears. Please if you can, provide scripture to back up what you say. This will kind of be a meditation for me though I’m sure we can all benefit from it. Thanks in advance! :-)

  1. Personally my biggest disappointments come from me not achieving things i set to or people letting me down. What i've started doing is before i get into anything whether it be a goal or an exam id like to do well on or any decision pray that God helps me and let everything happen according to his will, that way if things dont go how id like them to i simply accept it wasnt in his will especially if i put forth my part of the effort to make it happen. As for people i just remind myself constantly that God wants us to be like him and this is by far THE HARDEST THING IN THE WORLD lol God has this great mercy on us where we mess up over and over and then repent and were clean simply forgiven just like that, so even though its not easy i try to remember this Matthew 6:14 and Matthew 18:23-27 all remind us of his compassion and mercy, so even though people do thing that can be disappointing i remember those things and try to just drop it and keep it moving. Life overall can be a downer and the only thing that keeps me going is the comfort in knowing that God has it covered i might not always remember that in the midst of the disappointing stuff but a good reference is Isaiah 40:28-31, I hope this helps a little :)
